After a few more listens it sounded less corny, and more fitting. Not too much, but just enough to give me a little doubt about the song. On my first proper listens, I was kind of having trouble with the narration. So to some degree it isn't then completely new.
I normally listen somewhat subliminally the first time, to put an imprint in the back of my mind, for when I actually listen properly. The first time I heard this I thought it sounded pretty cool. These last two tracks on the album, have actually been the most difficult for me to find a common ground with. I am assuming we are going to have some very broad opinions on this. I haven't dissected the lyrics at this stage, so I am not really sure if that is the plot here. Ok, first, necromancy is essentially communicating with the dead for some form of information.
